Today I went to the Swans v Collingwood Practice match at Victoria Park.

Collingwood Ferals!

They really are a unique breed of supporter.

At the end of the game one of the ferals, stood above the player race and hurled abuse at the players and Swans fans. Although we were outnumbered he got a mouthful from those close by.

Then afterwards my kids wanted to wait outside the players rooms, the security was tight, about 10 security guards outside the rooms, making sure that the "feral" swan kids, with an average age of about 10 didn't get too close to the players. It all collapsed as most of the people waiting outside the rooms were actually the players family and the players totally disregarded the security and just mingled and signed autographs.

No sign of Joffa during the game, however he was spotted my my son waiting outside the Collingwood rooms in Abbot St. Jarrod was heard to say something about ugliness personified.

At half time a Photographer from the Herald Sun wanted to take a pic of a group of Swans fan, the Collingwood supporters were asked nicely if they could move for 5 mins, the begrudenly did so, then a women standing behind up proceeded to hold up her Collingwood Flag, and made a big to do when the photographer asked her if she would put the flag down.

Everyone should experience at least one game at Vic park in their life time just to realise how lucky we are that we no longer have to play there.

Well 29 sleeps to go! Now it really feels like I am going away, strolled down the street today, bought a new suitcase, and found out that going to a hot destination at this time of the year means that you can pick up good clothes bargains. For $38 at Target today, I got 3 hats, a skirt, 2 piece bathers, a beach bag, a bum bag, a pair of shorts. So it looks like I am set to go. All I need are the kids passports to arrive sometime in the next 28 days. I also paid for the balance of the trip yesterday.

I get to have a dose of footy tomorrow, the Swans are playing Collingwood in a practice game at Vic Park.

As most of you know I work at the University of Melbourne, it is the week before Semester 1 starts and like every year it is absolutely bedlam. I hope to do some serious resting on the weekend to get over this week. Last weekend saw the Swans take on Carlton in the Wizard Cup, I am not even going to post a link to the result, needless to say that it was dissapointing.

My dishwasher made an explosive end to its life the other night, blown electronics board at a cost of $400 to fix. Went out and bought a new diswasher today for $600.

Jarrod has headed of to Year 7 Camp today, I have a little peace till friday.

OOps my counting has been wrong, 38 days to go arrh well.

My nearly 20 year old nephew Callan has been selected to play for the Werribee Tigers VFL team this year, Congrats Callan, you have worked very hard to acheive this.

Today I took Mum to see The Full Monty, I bought her a ticket for her birthday. I must say that this was a fantastic show. Unfortunately the ticket sales have been bad and it is closing a week early and they have cancelled the Sydney season, it's a pity as it is a show I would easily recommend.

Weather has cooled down somewhat thank God!

It has been sooooooo HOT! Yesterday under my pergola it was 43 degrees and 50 degrees in my backyard. Well it could have been hotter but that's all the thermometer went up to.

Went and saw 21 Grams on Friday nite, it was an interesting movie, in a word I would say BLACK. As a parent, it's not something I would ever want to go through.

As I mentioned earlier, yesterday was bloody hot, Jarrod played Cricket in the morning and thankfully Baskeball was cancelled.

Today was registration day for the Lions and again it was HOT!!!!!

39 days to we are in Paridise

My mate Mark is doing great things in the Polls, bring it on Johnny

What a week, just so so busy, went to get passports for the kids yesterday as we have 43 days to go till we are in Paridise what a bureaucratic nightmare, mind you both kids have has passports in the past, but I still needed to prove that I was an Australian Citizen when they were born, so I had to come back home to get my birth certificate, anyway the applications are in the system now so hopefully they will arrive in about 2 weeks.

On a sad note one of the regular posters on the BTF, Catsmuvvva aka Ann, passed away this morning, RIP Ann

Went to Jarrods new High School yesterday for a getting to know you BBQ, I am impressed with the dedication of the staff of the school.

Well, thank God or whoever that the Aussies won the toss in todays One Day Final, otherwise the game may have been over by 6pm, great exhibition of batting particulary by Symonds, at present the Indians are 6/59 looks like there will be a 8.30 movie on afterall.

Peter Beattie had a landslide win in the Queensland State Election yesterday, I have yet to meet him, hopefully I will one day as he seems like a great person. The Liberal leader Springborg who looks remarkably like Eric Bana didn't manage to pull back any votes really, hopefully this will be reflected in the Federal Election later this year.

Still suffering from this weird bug, but feeling a touch better today.

Well, sometime you learn the hard way, never fill any part of a Passport application in blue pen as the powers that be don't like it. Anyway now that I have to completely re-do 2 passport applications and was ranting at the passport office about the frustration of this, they pointed me to their website where you can fill it in online then print it out, much easier than writing the whole thing out again.

Feeling pretty crook at the moment, went to the Dr who says I have a virus, bedrest and plenty of fluids etc. Yeah sure! Does wine count as a fluid?

Just taped and watched the first in the series of Absolutely Fabulous tonight, it's weird but I had tears streaming down my face with laughter, was good medicine tonight.
