Not happy Jan

I'm tired, I'm grumpy, I am very unhappy about the result of that game.

Things will change tomorrrow when I join the estimated 100,000 people marching the streets of Melbourne.

1.5 hours

I really need to go to bed and awake to watch the big game, I have the Mayor calling at 1.15 am to make sure I am awake and the prodical son calling at 1.30 to re-enforce that I am awake, so I need to go to sleep NOW!

It's not often!

That I have a weekend that doesn't involve transporting kids to various sporting/artistic persuits, this weekend is one of those rare few. So I am taking myself off to Sydney to see my Swannies take on Collingwood at Stadium Oz. This is the 3rd year in a row that I have been to this game, the other 2 occasions were very joyous, I only hope that this weekend turns out the same.

A win is a win is a win!

Some of you may know that I have been subjected to defending certain things that I have posted on my blog at the Municipal Electoral Tribunal. Well today the decision was handed down and all allegations were dismissed and I was awarded costs. Thanks to those out there who have supported me throughout this ordeal especially my community of online friends in no special order Supamum, Weez, Not the 6, Cam, Sean. There should be a story in The Age tomorrow, will post a link if it's online.

A special thanks to my solicitor who represented me without fault and used his vast knowledge of the LG Act and previous case law to ensure that the case went my way.

I just can't do it!

No matter how much I want to, I just can't set my alarm for 2am to watch the World Cup game against Brazil overnight. So I will find out the result at about 7am when I wake. I hope to hear positive news.

Just got a SMS from my mate Cookie who is at this very moment at the Footy Show in Munich and off to the Brazil game later on.

Mr J had a fantastic game today, kicked 6 of the 26 team goals, and had a poster. Great team effort very pleasurable to watch.

At this time of night this makes sense

If you are not into Big Brother
this
won't interest you.

Good Night and Good Luck!

I am way too young to remember the McCarthy era in the US ( well I wasn't actually born), but I have heard enough about it to really enjoy Good Night and Good Luck.

I don't think that George Clooney is a republican! I highly recommend this movie, it was so well acted and scripted, and it made me really feel like I was taken back to the 1950's. In a way it seems that nothing has changed.

Change

I have a pretty major change happening in my life in the next 3 weeks, however this change means that I need to change the email address that I have had since 1989. I think I have nearly remembered everything I have subscribed to, but it's taken me over a week to try and change all the addresses. I am sure I will have forgotten something and I still have to compose an email to about 150 people to personally advise them of this change, so expect something in your inboxes soon. At least with a bit of luck the new address won't attract the amount of spam I get now.

Internode commentor

I won't be posting your etrememly unpleasant comments but I will post your ip address of 59.167.87.65 and that you use Internode as your ISP. Interesting!!!!!!

Phone Scam - Beware

I got the heads up on this from an email I got from our IT Security Network at work, it's an elaborate scam to say the least, and it seems that it's only come to public notice due to the investigative work done by the 4 Wise Monkeys.

Stuff

I think I am still recovering from the great Aussie win on Monday night, checkout Rank and Vile for some great footage of THAT GOAL!

Tonight it was announced that prominent RWDB Keith Windschuttle has been appointed to the board of the ABC. As Weez says it's no longer our ABC it's John Howards ABC.

More commentary on this appointment at
LP. By tomorrow morning when the news hits mainstream media I am sure there will be more comment.

And while your at it take a look at Vernon Robinson's republican ad at LP, scary!

Ho hum weekend of Footy

None of the teams that I took an interest in this weekend won. The Swans lost by 2 points, but it should have been more.

Mr J's team got thrashed twice on the weekend, but Mr J was the highest scorer in the team with 2 goals, I was a pretty proud Mum yelling from the sidelines.

Split Enz Concert!

9/10

I can't give a 10/10 as I am hoping that Coldplay next month and U2 whenever are 10/10.

Evermore as the support band were very good as well.

Very enjoyable night!

My infatuation with Tim Brunero continues

Last year I really hoped that Tim would win Big Brother, he is a lefty and proudly so, but the maturity and insightfulness he showed on the show was uplifting from the usual boring housemate clones.

This year I haven't had too much time to get involved with BBO6, except to say that even thought he is a member of The Nats, I think I would like to see David win.

This aside, I have fallen victim to Tim Brunero again and finally learnt how to download Podcasts into ITunes. Tim does some great interviews with the evicted housemates, much better than Gretal's interviews.

Plus I have found this site on the Chaser site, it's very funny, Tim calls it Big Blogger and it's very entertaining and given my thoughts on Hillsong, we are once again on the same wavelength.

So I digress, this weekend is full of FOOTBALL, I have just spent 3 freezing hours cooking a BBQ up at our local junior footy, Mr J will be playing for the Riddell District League on Saturday and Monday, take a look at the playing list it's the only time you will see 2 arch rivals on the same team.

A break on Sunday night going to see The Enz with Sean on Sunday night, I can't wait, given the review of last nights show in Brisbane it should be great.

Which way do you sway?

Take the test at Political Compass my score was

Economic Left/Right: -5.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.64

Not too surprising.

A really nice thing happened yesterday that made me feel so good. A parent from my daughters school, sent home a bunch of flowers to me as part of National Thanksgiving Day which is tomorrow. I was so humbled and given all of the drama's that I have endured in the past few months its was just fantastic and made me feel good for a change.

So to all my loyal 4 readers I say thanks for your loyal support and friendship.

This week

This is a month with a 5th Monday so I had Monday night off, got to watch my 3 favorite shows live ( Desperate Housewifes, Commander in Chief, and Boston Legal}.

Tuesday and Wedsnesday pretty quiet, phone calls and emails to answer and the repite appreciated so that I could answer the phone calls and email. Went ans watched Mr J's rep footy side beat the Western Football league. Mr J is still injured with a sore hammy, but looks like coming back into footy on Sunday.

Tonight, VLGA delegates meeting, interesing diaologue about current planning situation, hopefully the outcomes will be noted by the State Government.

Tomorrow night, is the UN Enviornment Day Awards, Hume is up for 2 awards so fingers crossed.

Big issues with Mr J's school and his ADD, it's a fight I am ready to take on and it will employ more of my time, but hey he is my kid and I will fight tooth and nail for him. What I can't understand is that at school this child is according to them ready to expel, impossible to relate to, yada yada. However at home he doesn't show those tendancies, he is a bugger as most 14 year olds are, but he doesn't vandalise, destroy, hurt people or property. His is what we described when I was at school as a class clown. I am not saying that this is right, but for gods sake please pick your fights. It's becoming tiring, but at the end of the day, he is my flesh and blood and I love him more than anything, so I will fight till the end.

This blog is becoming boring as I just don't have the time to update is as I would like to. So just take it as it comes.

I got tickets today to the Boxing Day match for the Ashes, I have RSI from pressing F5 on the ticketmaster site. But we will be a part of history.
